Are you using this board with an installation of Windows that was done on a different board? Hit the bios update and it discovered the Linux partition. This item may or may not be in original packaging. I do assume you installed all motherboard drivers from the CD? What are your system specs MB, cpu, ram, hard drive? But that may just be the easiest. Since Windows is the one complaining likely Windows is the problem.

Ok, so I removed the power cord, booted into a windows 7 32 bit disk and now it works. Can only see that you 785gtm-r45 for a wire too many. If it does not, verify that the device functions.
What are your VM specs? All the ports are detected in device manager, but plugging a device give an E43 and a nice yellow flag EDIT: Windows discovered something but don’t know what to do with it.

Sorry for my acute new users syndrome. If it’s the last, that seldom works good. 785btm-e45 get the error message below, I have also updated drivers, chipset, even had the original RMA’d I’m very new to Linux and have been curious about trying it out.
I have updated the chipset numerous times using the “MSI Live update” because 785gtm-r45 is dumb and doesn’t have the stuff strait on there website and my disc. Of course, I can’t run Crysis on the thing.
